SUMMARY OF THE MIDDLE AGES
The Roman Empire was destroyed when the barbarians from the north and east of Europe invaded. Barbarians distributed the territory of the empire. Thus began the period of history called the Middle Ages.
During this time he established a system called feudalism. The people were divided into
lords and vassals. The servants were subject to their masters, and in return received
protection. Gradually, trade encouraged the consolidation of markets around which they
flourish in cities. It went from a completely rural society to an important influence of
urban life.
The average age lasted from the fall of the Western Roman Empire (fifth century) until
the fall of Constantinople to the Turks (fifteenth century).
For almost a thousand years the center of an area was then dominated by the castle,
where he lived the feudal lord. On it depended on forests, fields, houses and villages and
even the people living in those regions.
The castle was a military building where he lived the feudal lord and his family, who had
luxurious rooms. There lived in simple rooms, servants, responsible for housework and knights, soldiers who defended you.
The farmers, however, lived in conditions similar to the Old Age: simple houses, stone walls and thatched or tiled. In one room were life people and pets.
